Supply Chain Act and Supplier Code Kaiser Ventilatorenbau GmbH & CO KG

As an KMU company, Kaiser Ventilatorenbau is not obligated to comply with the Supplier Code (Supply Chain Act). Nevertheless, small companies and suppliers may be indirectly affected by the requirements of the Supply Chain Act. Larger companies that are subject to the law can require their suppliers to also take measures to comply with human rights and environmental protection standards. This increases pressure along the entire supply chain to promote sustainable and responsible practices.
Since our customers also include large companies that are subject to the Supply Chain Act, it is part of our responsibility to comply with and integrate the Supply Chain Act within the scope of our company size and capabilities.

In doing so, we are guided by the United Nations Global Compact (UN Global Compact).

Article IV. Sustainability and Environmental Protection Supplier Code Kaiser Vemntilatorenbau

(a) Sustainability

As a manufacturer of fans, we already began introducing a documented sustainability strategy in 2016.
Three fields of action for sustainability have been and are defined.
We assume our own responsibility for:

Nature, climate protection and society.
Products and supply chains,
our employees and data protection.

Business travel, both nationally and internationally, is largely reduced. An important building block for sustainability is the use of Microsoft Teams and Zoom to avoid unnecessary travel through online meetings.
Focus on recycling: We ensure that packaging is reused and recycled, avoid unnecessary use of operating materials, and use climate-neutral heating wherever possible.

(b) Climate protection

Offices were soundproofed and energy-optimized as part of the 2006 expansion. Furthermore, green areas were built to compensate for CO2 emissions.
With the installation of a photovoltaic system in 2023, we expect to generate more electricity than Kaiser Ventilatorenbau consumes in the medium term. Thus, we are prepared for future years to produce in a cost- and climate-friendly way.

We make sure that our suppliers produce in Germany and Western Europe. In this way, we reduce unnecessary long-distance deliveries from the Far East and can maintain quality standards. We also avoid production in low-wage countries with poor environmental protection. This makes us independent from international difficult supply chains.

(c) Environmental regulations

We expect our suppliers to behave responsibly in terms of protecting the environment
and the conservation of limited natural resources and fully comply with environmental laws. Furthermore, we expect our suppliers to consider climate protection as far as possible in their sustainability strategy and to operate sustainably. This refers to climate-friendly energy production and utilization, as well as the use of technical facilities (video conferencing, data exchange via the Internet, use of VPN networks) to avoid unnecessary travel.

Our suppliers may pass on the contents of this Supplier Code in an appropriate form to their suppliers or subcontractors in the supply chain.
We regard violations of the principles set out in this Supplier Code as a significant impairment of the relationship with our suppliers and on the part of customers towards us. In the event of indications of non-compliance with the principles of this Supplier Code, we reserve the right, without prejudice to further rights, to demand information on the relevant facts.
