Description of axial fan GD404

The GD404 axial fan is a quiet running fan with a high volume flow of 5100 m³/h at a nominal speed of 1400 rpm. The voltage is 400 volts and the diameter is 400 mm.

In addition to cooling of or in machines, the fans can also be used for ventilation of offices or smaller generator rooms. The design of the built-in fan with a stable powder-coated or galvanized steel ring can be installed very well in halls or office walls as well as in containers.

Voltage and regulation of the GD404 axial fan

The AC axial fans can be easily controlled at 230 volts by temperature controllers TR46.

Air quality controllers from our offer are also often additionally used in offices. They make the air there more pleasant. Stables are also a popular place of use of axial fans.

If the fans work under high temperatures, a thermal contact is recommended to prevent damage to the motor.

The voltage of the three-phase fan is 400 volts and 50 hertz. Voltages of 480 volts and 60 hertz for the USA and 575 volts and 60 hertz for Canada are also available. Special voltages of 500 volts and 50 hertz are also available upon request.

In our offer there are also robust speed controllers in transformer design. They allow control of the blower over the entire speed range.

AC fans can also be controlled steplessly and electronically by speed controllers. Air quality controllers, CO2 controllers and temperature controllers can also take over this control based on this.

Frequency converters can control the AC motors, but depending on the frequency converter, an all-pole sinusoidal filter must be connected between the fan and the motor (DIN-IEC/TS 60034-17).

Stainless steel versions of the GD404 axial fan

Stainless steel fans are also available, the stainless steel material V2A (material number 1.4301 or AISI 304 or X5CrNi189) is particularly suitable for the food industry, the special stainless steel V4A (material number 1.4571 or AISI 316 or X10CrNiMoTil810) especially for salty air.

The motors, cast as standard from high-quality aluminum, can be left raw or painted with food color if required. A material approved for the food industry is also conceivable if regular acceptance tests are carried out.

Painting with salt water-resistant paint is also possible for offshore applications.

Material of the GD404 axial fan

The impellers can be made of aluminum if required. This allows them to be used in higher temperatures. As a standard, they are produced from fiberglass reinforced plastic.

Rectangular plate fans are also available by agreement and from a minimum order quantity.

The standard IP44 protection can be extended to IP54 or IP56 on request.

By specifying the air direction, the flow of air is also freely selectable due to the flexible design of the axial fans.

Technical illustration of the axial fan GD404

The air direction is reversible, but with such a reversed air direction an air performance loss of 15% must be expected, since the axial impeller blades are profiled to guarantee the highest possible efficiency with the standard air direction.
The motors carry thermal protection class F or H according to DIN EN 60085. They were developed by Kaiser Ventilatorenbau and specially adapted to the various axial blowers.
Various tests are available. Type tests for bearing and installation temperature can be requested, as well as salt water tests for the stainless steel fans and IPx6 moisture class tests.
The three-phase fan is energy efficient and complies with the ERP2015 Ecodesign Directive (ErP Directive 2009/125/EC EU Regulation No. 327/2011), thus it carries the CE mark.
Weather protection dampers and discharge grilles are available should they be required to comply with the Machinery Directive.
STEP files of the CAD data are permanently available for download on the company website of Kaiser Ventilatorenbau, which makes it possible to integrate the products into the planning process even before ordering.
