Description of axial fan GE454
Fan type GE454 is an efficient and quiet running fan made by Kaiser Ventilatorenbau with a volume flow of 6800 m³/h and a voltage of 230 volts. The nominal speed is 1400 rpm and the diameter and size are 450 mm.
The application areas of the axial fan are versatile, so the fan can be used for cooling of smaller generator rooms and of office rooms, but also for cooling of or in machines. In the version as a built-in fan, the stable steel ring, which is powder-coated or galvanized, enables easy integration of the fan into hall walls, office walls and containers.
Voltage and control of axial fan GE454
All AC axial fans can be controlled at 230 volts by temperature controllers from our wide range catalog.
Air quality controllers are also widely used to make the air in office spaces more pleasant and fresh. Axial blowers are also used in stables.
At high operating temperatures, a thermal contact in the form of a bimetal switch is recommended to prevent damage to the motor.
The rated voltage of this AC fan is 230 volts and 50 hertz. For three-phase motors, voltages for the USA (480 volts, 60 hertz), Canada (575 volts, 60 hertz) and special voltages (500 volts, 50 hertz) are also available.
The fans are controllable in the whole speed range, robust speed controllers in transformer design from our offer represent the simplest possibility for this.
The 230 volt AC axial blowers can also be controlled by stepless electronic speed controllers. Based on this, the control can be taken over by temperature controllers or CO2 controllers or air quality controllers from our versatile offer catalog.
Three-phase motors can be controlled by frequency converters, however, depending on the frequency converter, an all-pole sinusoidal filter must be added between the motor and the fan in accordance with DIN-IEC/TS 60034-17.
Stainless steel variants of the GE454 axial fan
Stainless steel fans are also available in our offer. Fans can be supplied in V2A (material number 1.4301 or AISI 304 or X5CrNi189) for food industry and in V4A (material number 1.4571 or AISI 316 or X10CrNiMoTil810) for salty air.
The motors, which are manufactured as standard from cast aluminum of the highest quality, can be left raw or treated with food color for use in the food industry. An aluminum material approved for the food industry can also be used in the production if regular acceptance tests are carried out.
Treatment of motors with salt water resistant paint is also possible for offshore applications.
Material of the GE454 axial fan
The impellers, which are made of high quality and fiberglass reinforced plastic material as standard, can also be made of aluminum if required and thus used under higher temperatures.
The rectangular plate fan version is also available in our offer, but for cost reasons it is possible only from a minimum order quantity.
The protection class, which is already IP44 as standard, can be extended to IP54 or IP56 for use in humid conditions.
The air flow can also be freely selected by specifying the air direction when ordering and the flexible production of the axial fans.

The air direction of the axial fan can be reversed without any problems, however, a loss of air performance of up to 15% must be expected with a reversed air direction, as the blades of the impellers are profiled for optimum efficiency.
According to DIN EN 60085, the motors carry thermal protection class F or H and were specially developed by Kaiser Ventilatorenbau and adapted to the axial fans.
Type tests for bearing and installation temperature, salt water tests for stainless steel fans in offshore applications and IPx6 moisture class tests are available and can be requested.
The fans, which are all of energy-efficient design, carry the CE mark and comply with the ERP2015 Ecodesign Directive (ErP Directive 2009/125/EC EU Regulation No. 327/2011).
Weather protection dampers and discharge grilles are also available if required by the Machinery Directive.
STEP files of the CAD data of our products are permanently available on our company website for our customers, which enables the integration of the fans into the planning and design process even before ordering.
