 Description of MD404 axial fan

MD404 is an efficient and quiet running axial fan made by Kaiser Ventilatorenbau with a volume flow of 5300 m³/h and a nominal speed of 1400 rpm. The size and thus the diameter is 400 mm, the voltage of the three-phase fan is 400 volts.

The areas of application of the three-phase axial fan are versatile, for example, it can be used for cooling of or in machines, but it can also be used for ventilation of offices or smaller generator rooms for cooling. The variant of the axial recessed fan allows the blower to be easily integrated into office walls, hall walls or containers due to the sturdy powder-coated or galvanized steel ring.

Voltage and control of the MD404 axial fan

In addition, the AC axial fan can be controlled at 230 volts via a temperature controller.

Many of our customers also use an air quality controller to make the air in office spaces more comfortable. Thus, the axial fans of Kaiser Ventilatorenbau are also used in stables.

If the fans are used in high temperatures, a thermal contact in the form of a bimetal switch is recommended to prevent damage to the motor.

The voltage of the three-phase axial fan is 400 volts and 50 hertz, but voltages for the USA (480 volts, 60 hertz), Canada (575 volts, 60 hertz) and special voltages (500 volts, 50 hertz) are also available.

Stainless steel versions of the MD404 axial fan

Stainless steel fans can be produced in V2A (material number 1.4301 or AISI 304 or X5CrNi189) for the food industry and in V4A (material number 1.4571 or AISI 316 or X10CrNiMoTil810) for applications in salty air.

The motors are cast as standard from high quality aluminum and can be treated with food color, left raw or cast from a material approved for the food industry if regular acceptance tests are carried out.

For offshore applications, painting with paint resistant to salt water is also possible.

Material of the MD404 axial fan

The impellers, which are made of fiberglass-reinforced plastic, can also be made of aluminum on request for higher temperatures.

A rectangular plate fan design is available upon request and minimum order quantity.

The fan's protection rating, which is IP44 as standard, can also be upgraded to IP54 or IP56 for use in humid environments.

Weather protection flaps and outlet protection grilles are also available in our offer and can be supplied.

Technical diagram of the MD404 axial fan

The air direction of the axial fan is reversible, however, the axial impeller blades are profiled for optimum efficiency, so in the case of reversed air direction, an air performance loss of up to 15% must be expected.
The motors have been specially developed by Kaiser Ventilatorenbau for the axial blowers and carry thermal protection class F or H according to DIN EN 60085.
Type tests for bearing and installation temperature, salt water tests of the stainless steel fans in the offshore area and IPx6 tests of the humidity class can be requested if required.
The fan carries the CE mark, is designed to be energy efficient and complies with the ERP 2015 Ecodesign Directive (ErP Directive 2009/125/EC EU Regulation No. 327/2011).
The fans can be controlled over the entire speed range with our speed controllers in robust transformer design from our range.
The 230 volt AC axial fans can be controlled with the help of stepless electronic speed controllers, which can then be taken over by temperature controllers or CO2 controllers and air quality controllers.
The three-phase motors can also be controlled by frequency converters, whereby, depending on the frequency converter, these must be supported by an all-pole sinusoidal filter between the motor and the fan according to DIN-IEC/TS 60034-17.
CAD data in STEP exchange format are permanently available for our customers on the company website, which makes it possible to integrate our products into the design even before ordering.
