Description of the axial fan MD454
The MD454 axial fan has a voltage of 400 volts and a high air flow rate of 6200 m³/h. The nominal speed is 1400 rpm and the size and diameter are 450 mm.
The axial fans can be used for cooling of smaller generator rooms, for cooling of or in machines and for cooling of office rooms. The variant of the built-in fan with the stable powder-coated or galvanized steel built-in ring enables the installation in office and hall walls as well as in containers for cooling them.
Voltage and regulation of the axial fan MD454
Temperature controllers can easily control the 230 volt AC axial fans.
Air quality controllers from our offer are also widely used by customers to make the air in offices and companies as well as halls fresher. Stables are also a popular place of use for axial fans.
If the fans are to be used in high temperatures, a thermal contact in the form of a bimetal switch is recommended to prevent damage to the motor.
The rated voltage of the three-phase fans is 400 volts and 50 hertz, but voltages for the USA (480 volts, 60 hertz) and Canada (575 volts, 60 hertz) as well as special voltages with 500 volts, 50 hertz are available.
Stainless steel versions of the MD454 axial fan
Stainless steel fans are also available in our offer. Fans in V2A (material number 1.4301 or AISI 304 or X5CrNi189) for food industry as well as in V4A (material number 1.4571 or AISI 316 or X10CrNiMoTil810) for salty air are available on request.
The motors are cast from high quality aluminum. If required, they can be treated with food color or left raw for food industry, also an aluminum material approved for food industry is possible with regular acceptances.
Painting with paint resistant to salt water is also possible for offshore.
Material of the MD454 axial fan
Impellers can be made of aluminum on request for use under high temperatures, as standard they are made of plastic material reinforced with fiberglass.
A rectangular plate fan version is available upon agreement and a minimum order quantity.
If it is desired to use the fan in a humid environment, the standard IP44 protection can be extended to IP54 or IP56.
If the air direction is specified when ordering, the air flow can be freely selected.
Weather protection dampers and blow-out protection grilles are also included in our offer, should they be necessary to comply with the Machinery Directive.
Technical description of the MD454 axial fan
The axial fan is reversible, but a loss of air output u 15% must be expected if the air direction is reversed, as the fan's impeller blades are profiled for optimum efficiency.
The motors, which were specially developed by Kaiser Ventilatorenbau, are specially adapted to the axial fans and comply with thermal protection class F or H according to DIN EN 60085.
Saltwater tests for the stainless steel fans in offshore applications can be requested, as well as an IPx6 moisture class test and type tests for bearing and installation temperature.
The motors are designed to be energy efficient and carry the CE mark, complying with the ERP 2015 Ecodesign Directive (ErP Directive 2009/125/EC EU Regulation No. 327/2011).
The fans can be controlled over the entire speed range by robust speed controllers in transformer design from our range.
The alternating current fans are controlled by stepless electronic speed controllers, whereas the control can be taken over by temperature controllers or CO2 controllers and air quality controllers from our offer.
The three-phase motors are controllable by frequency converters, but according to DIN-IEC/TS 60034-17 it must be taken care that, depending on the frequency converter, an all-pole sinusoidal filter must be connected between the motor and the fan.
CAD data in STEP exchange format are available for our customers on our website at any time, which allows easy and quick integration of our axial fans into the planning and design process.
