Description of axial fan ME404
Axial fan type ME404 is a quiet running fan with a nominal speed of 1400 rpm and voltage of 230Volt.
The diameter of the fan is 400mm, the volume flow is 5200m³/h and the size is also 400mm.
The areas of application of axial fans for cooling are versatile, for example, they can be used in offices, smaller generator rooms or in machines. The variant of the axial recessed fan allows installation in office and hall walls, the stable mounting ring even allows the use in containers for cooling and ventilation of the same.
Voltage and regulation of the ME404 axial fan
The AC axial fans can be controlled by temperature controllers at 230Volt, just as air quality controllers can be used to make the air more comfortable in office spaces, for example. Thus, the axial fans from our offer are even used in stables.
In applications with high temperatures, it is advisable to use thermal contacts in the form of bimetallic switches to prevent damage to the motor.
The rated voltage of the motor is 230Volt and 50 Hertz. For three-phase motors, our offer also includes voltages of 480Volt and 60Hertz, as well as 575 Volt and 60 Hertz for use in the USA and Canada. Special voltages of 500Volt and 50Hertz are also available upon request.
Stainless steel versions of the axial fan ME404
Stainless steel fans in V2A (material number 1.4301 or AISI 304 or X5CrNi189) and in V4A (material number 1.4571 or AISI 316 or X10CrNiMoTil810) are also available. V2A is particularly suitable for the food industry and V4A can be used in salty air.
The motors, which are cast from high quality aluminum as standard, can be left raw for the food industry or painted with food color if desired. In case of regular acceptance, it is also possible to use an aluminum material approved for the food industry.
Likewise, painting with salt water resistant paint is possible if the need arises for the offshore sector.
Material of the ME404 axial fan
The impellers, which are made of glass fiber reinforced plastic, can also be replaced by aluminum impellers from our offer, in order to be used in higher temperatures.
The plate fan design in rectangular shape is also possible upon agreement and regular acceptance.
Standard protection class of axial fans is IP44, but IP54 or IP56 are also possible on request for humid environments.
The flow of air is freely selectable, if the specification of air direction is made when ordering the axial fans.
Weather protection dampers and outlet protection grilles can also be retrofitted if required by the Machinery Directive.
Technical illustration of the ME404 axial fan
- With the reversible axial fan, the air direction can be reversed. However, with the reversed air direction, a loss of air performance of about 15% must be expected, as the axial impeller blades are profiled for optimum efficiency.
- The motors were specially developed by Kaiser Ventilatorenbau and adapted to the axial fans. They comply with thermal protection class F or H according to DIN EN 60085.
- Type tests are available for the installation and storage temperature and can be requested. Saltwater tests for the stainless steel fans in offshore applications and an IPx6 test of the humidity class are also available.
- The fans fully comply with the ERP 2015 Ecodesign Directive and carry the CE mark. Also, the motors are designed to be highly energy efficient and comply with ERP2015 (ErP Directive 2009/125/EC EU Regulation No. 327/2011).
- The axial blowers can be controlled over the entire speed range. A speed controller in transformer design is recommended for this purpose, which makes it possible to control the fan in a simple manner.
- The 230Volt AC axial fans can be controlled by stepless electronic speed controllers. Based on this, temperature controllers or C02 controllers and air quality controllers from our offer are recommended for control.
- The three-phase motors can be controlled by frequency converters, however, according to DIN-IEC/TS 60034-17, depending on the frequency converter, an all-pole sinusoidal filter must be connected between the motor and the fan.
- CAD data of the fans are permanently available on our website in STEP exchange format, which enables our customers to easily include the fans in their planning and design process even before ordering.
