Description of axial fan ME454
The axial fan type ME454 is a quiet running axial fan with a voltage of 230 volts and a nominal speed of 1400 rpm.
With a diameter of 450mm, the fan has a volume flow of 6000m³/h and a size of 450mm.
The axial fan is versatile for cooling, such as cooling in machines, cooling smaller generator rooms or cooling office spaces. The axial recessed fan is suitable to be installed in office or hall walls. Also the use in containers for cooling and ventilation of the same is possible due to the stable installation ring of the fan.
Voltage and control of the axial fan ME454
The AC axial fans can also be regulated at 230Volt by temperature controllers from our offer.
Air quality controllers also make it possible to make the air in office rooms more pleasant and are also available from Kaiser Ventilatorenbau. Thus, many axial variants are also used in stables.
In an area of application with high temperatures, bimetal switches in the form of thermal contacts are recommended to prevent damage to the motor and fan.
The standard rated voltage of the fan is 230Volt and 50Hertz, but we also supply special voltages of 500Volt and 50Hz for three-phase motors. Voltages for USA and Canada in the form of 480Volt, 60Hz and 575Volt, 60Hz are also possible.
Stainless steel versions of the ME454 axial fan
Stainless steel fans in V2A are available for the food industry (material number 1.4301 or AISI 304 or X5CrNi189), as are special stainless steel fans in V4A for applications with salty air (material number 1.4571 or AISI 316 or X10CrNiMoTil810).
The motors are cast from high-quality aluminum as standard. On request, they can be left untreated for the food industry or treated with food color. In case of regular acceptance, a product made of aluminum material approved for the food industry is also possible.
Painting with salt water-resistant paint is also feasible on request for offshore applications.
Material of the ME454 axial fan
The impellers, which are made of glass fiber reinforced plastic, can also be made of aluminum on request for use in high temperatures.
By agreement, a rectangular plate fan design is also possible, but this can only be realized from a minimum order quantity for cost reasons.
The standard protection class of the axial fans is IP44, but on request one of the higher protection classes IP54 or IP56 for use in humid environments can be realized.
The flow of the air is freely selectable for the axial fans of Kaiser Ventilatorenbau, provided that the specification of the air direction is made when ordering the fans.
To comply with the Machinery Directive, weather protection dampers or blow-out protection grilles can of course be supplied on request.
Technical illustration of the ME454 axial fan
- The axial fans are designed in such a way that the air direction can be reversed without any problems. However, a loss of air performance of about 15% must be expected with the reversed axial fans, as the blades of the impellers are profiled for optimum efficiency.
- The motors, which were specially developed by Kaiser Ventilatorenbau and adapted to the fans, comply with thermal protection class F or H according to DIN EN 60085.
- Type tests are available for the bearing and operating temperature, saltwater tests are available for the use of the stainless steel fans in offshore applications, and an IPx6 test is available for the moisture class.
- The fan, which 100% complies with the requirements of the Ecodesign Directive ERP 2015, bears the CE mark. The motors, which were designed by Kaiser Ventilatorenbau to be energy efficient, also comply with ERP2015 (ErP Directive 2009/125/EC EU Regulation No. 327/2011).
- The fans can be controlled without any problems in the entire speed range. A robust speed controller in transformer design from our range is recommended for this purpose.
- The 230Volt AC fans can be controlled steplessly and easily by electronic speed controllers. Based on this, it is recommended to use CO2 controllers and air quality controllers or temperature controllers for control.
- The three-phase motors can be controlled by frequency converters. According to DIN-IEC/TS 60034-17 it has to be followed that eventually and depending on the frequency converter an all-pole sine filter has to be connected between motor and fan.
