Centrifugal blowers as radial fans with free-running radial impeller.

In addition to the series of centrifugal fans, the Kaiser delivery program also includes special designs in centrifugal blowers.

The centrifugal blowers consist of impellers with backward curved blades and can be used without a housing. This gives different applications of centrifugal blowers for machine cooling or for transporting unclean air containing dust or solvents.

Radialgebläse

The design as a centrifugal blower in stainless steel is also possible.

As shown in the picture below, the stainless steel centrifugal blower consists of:

  • Stainless steel impeller,
  • stainless steel inlet nozzle and
  • stainless steel motor plate.

Pressure-flow curve of the centrifugal blowers

Radialgebläse Kurve

Radial blower curve

The pressure-volume flow curve is characterized by a smooth curve, since the motor is not in the air flow. However, this also results in a larger space requirement for centrifugal blowers than for centrifugal fans. Depending on the design, centrifugal blowers can be controlled to a certain extent by means of a voltage transformer or frequency converter.

Compared to centrifugal fans with forward-curved blades, centrifugal blowers can be expected to have a lower volume flow at higher pressure.

The impellers are welded or riveted in galvanized steel or stainless steel.

The centrifugal blowers are

  • 2-pole with nominal speeds of approx. 3000rpm
  • 4-pole with nominal speeds of approx. 1500 rpm
  • 8-pole rated speeds of approx. 800 rpm (quieter running) are possible.
  • Voltages of 400 Volt, 50 Hz, as well as 480 Volt, 60 Hz and 230 Volt, 50 Hz are possible.

Advantages of radial blowers at a glance:

  • Due to their design, the centrifugal blowers are easy to manufacture and can also be supplied in single pieces.
  • Protection: The design of the protection class is according to IP 44, on request also in IP 54, as well as tropical insulated.
  • Transport of unclean air, air containing water, air containing dust.
  • As the motor is located outside the air flow, high temperatures of the air are possible.
  • The design can be easily adapted to customer requirements.
  • The operation is designed for S1 (continuous operation).

Differences between radial blower fan, centrifugal fan and axial fan

Unterschiedliche Bauformen der Ventilatoren, Radialgebläse, Radialventilator, Axialventilator

Centrifugal blowers and radial fans are very similar and often interchangeable depending on the application.
In both variants, centrifugal fans and radial blowers, the air flow is diverted by 90°, while in axial fans the air flow is not diverted and remains the same in direction.
