Description of axial fan KD254
Axial fans type KD254 are quiet running fans with nominal speed 1400 rpm and voltage 400Volt.
The volume flow is 1200 m³/h and the fan has a diameter of 250mm. The overall size is 250 mm.
The axial fans are applicable for cooling in machines, cooling of smaller rooms with generators or office rooms. For this purpose, the design as an axial built-in fan is suitable for hall walls or office walls. The use in containers for cooling and ventilation is easy to realize due to the stable mounting ring.
Voltage and control of the axial fan KD254
As AC axial fans, they can be additionally controlled by TR46 temperature controllers at 230Volt.
Air quality controllers to keep the air in office rooms more pleasant are also in the offer. Axial fans are also used in stables.
In case of high temperatures, thermal contacts in the form of bimetal switches are possible to prevent damage to the motor.
The rated voltage is 400Volt, 50Hz, but voltages of 480Volt, 60Hz (USA) and 575Volt, 60Hz (Canada) are also possible. Special voltages of 500Volt, 50Hz are also available.
Fans can be controlled over the entire speed range. In the simplest case, by rugged speed controllers of transformer design.
The 230 Volt AC fans can also be controlled and regulated by stepless electronic speed controllers. Based on this, they can also be controlled by our temperature controllers or C02 controllers and air quality controllers.
The three-phase motors can also be controlled by frequency converters. In accordance with DIN-IEC/TS 60034-17, it should be noted that, depending on the frequency converter, an all-pole sinusoidal filter must be connected between the motor and the fan.
Stainless steel variants of the axial fan KD254
Stainless steel fans in V2A (material number 1.4301 or AISI 304 or X5CrNi189) as a version for the food industry, as well as in special stainless steel V4A (material number 1.4571 or AISI 316 or X10CrNiMoTil810) for salty air are available.
The motors are made of high quality cast aluminum. These can be left raw for the food industry or painted with food color. Also an aluminum material approved for the food industry is conceivable in the production, with regular acceptances.
In the offshore area, painting with salt water-resistant paint is also possible.
Material of the axial fan KD254
The impellers are made of glass fiber reinforced plastic as standard. Upon request, aluminum impellers are available for higher temperatures.
A rectangular plate fan design is also possible by agreement. For cost reasons, however, this is only possible from a low minimum order quantity.
The protection class is IP44 as standard, but IP54 and IP56 are also possible for humid environments.
The flow of the air can be freely selected when ordering by specifying the air direction for the axial fans.
Technical description of the axial fan KD254
The axial fan is reversible, i.e. the air direction can be reversed. Since the impeller blades are profiled for optimum efficiency, in the reversed direction the air output is reduced by about 15%.
The motors of the axial fan have been developed by Kaiser Ventilatorenbau and are specially adapted to the axial fans. The thermal protection class corresponds to protection class F or H according to DIN EN 60085.
There are type tests for the storage temperature and the operating temperature of the fans. Saltwater tests for offshore use are available for the stainless steel fans. An IPx6 test for moisture class is also available.
The fan complies with the ERP 2015 Ecodesign Directive and thus carries the CE- mark.
The motors are energy efficient and the fans comply with ERP2015 (ErP Directive 2009/125/EC EU Regulation No. 327/2011).
If weather protection dampers or air outlet grilles are required to comply with the Machinery Directive, these can be ordered as well.
CAD data for the 3D design are available in STEP exchange format and can be accessed at any time. This allows the customer's design department to easily and quickly include the axial fans in advance in the design and construction process.
