Description of the axial fan KD354
The axial fan type KD354 is a three-phase fan with a rated voltage of 400 volts. Due to the nominal speed of 1400 rpm, this is quiet with a high volume flow of 3700 m³/h. The impeller of the fan has a nominal diameter of 350mm. The nominal size is 350mm.
The fan is used, among other things, for cooling generators, containers and small rooms. In the version of built-in axial fan, the fan can be used in hall walls, office walls or walls in sandwich construction, also in cooling and ventilation of containers.
Voltage and control of the axial fan KD354
If the design as an AC axial fan is chosen, it can be controlled via a
When using our temperature controller, the KE354 AC version can be used to continuously control the temperature within narrow limits.
If the air quality is to be improved, for example in office rooms due to excessive CO2 levels, this can be achieved with the help of the air quality controller.
Our axial blowers can also be used to improve the air in livestock buildings.
In case of high operating temperatures, it is recommended to install thermal contacts in the form of bimetal switches in the winding to protect the motor.
Standard voltage of the motor in three-phase operation is 400Volt, 50Hz. However, special voltages of 480Volt, 60Hz (USA) and 575Volt, 60Hz (Canada) are also possible. Special voltages of 500Volt, 50Hz can also be manufactured.
Stainless steel versions of axial fan KD354
For the food industry we have stainless steel fans in V2A (material number 1.4301 or AISI 304 or X5CrNi189) in our program. Since high quality cast aluminum is used for the motors, they can be left raw for the food industry or painted with food color. The aluminum casting made of aluminum material approved for the food industry is conceivable in the production, with higher annual purchase quantities.
The offshore area, for example the coastal area or drilling platforms, is covered by the use of fans in stainless steel V4A (material number 1.4571 or AISI 316 or X10CrNiMoTil810) for salty air.
The use of salt water-resistant paint is also possible as an additional coating.
Material of the axial fan KD354
The impellers are made of glass fiber reinforced plastic as standard, aluminum impellers are available for higher temperatures.
The fan is also available as a plate fan in rectangular design. Here, however, there is a need for a small minimum order quantity for cost reasons.
Protection class IP44 is standard. However, when ordered, the protection class IP54 and the protection class IP56 are also available.
The installation position of the fans can be determined by specifying the air direction when ordering. However, this can be changed later without too much effort.
Technical description of the axial fan KD354
The axial fan is reversible, i.e. the air direction can be reversed. Since the impeller blades are profiled for optimum efficiency, the air performance is reduced by about 15% in the reversed direction.
The company Kaiser Ventilatorenbau has designed and developed the motors and specially made them for the axial fans. According to DIN EN 60085, the thermal protection class is F or H on request.
With the help of tests in climatic chambers we have been able to confirm the temperatures for storage and the permissible operating temperature.
Through test procedures we have proven the stainless steel fans' suitability for use in salt water for offshore applications and through an IPx6 humidity test.
The fan carries the CE mark and complies with the ERP 2015 Ecodesign Directive.
The motors are energy efficient and the fans comply with ERP2015 (ErP Directive 2009/125/EC EU Regulation No. 327/2011).
The fans are controllable throughout the power range by varying the voltage and speed. In the simplest case, this is possible by means of robust multistage speed controllers in transformer design.
Alternatively, the three-phase motors can also be controlled by frequency converters. In accordance with DIN-IEC/TS 60034-17, it should be noted that, depending on the frequency converter, an all-pole sinusoidal filter must be connected between the motor and the fan.
The KE354 is suitable for use with 230Volt alternating current. The speed can be controlled by stepless electronic speed controllers, temperature controllers or air quality controllers.
Weather protection dampers and air outlet protection grilles can be supplied as attachments, for example to comply with the Machinery Directive.
Ready-made CAD data in STEP format are available for the design. This means that the fan can be integrated early in the design process of a plant. This saves time and costs by avoiding design changes.
