 Description of KE354 axial fan

The KE354 type axial fan is a two-phase AC fan with a rated voltage of 230 volts at 50Hz. The rated speed of 1400 rpm makes it quiet in operation. The high volume flow rate is 3700 m³/h. Since the impeller diameter is 350mm, the fan corresponds to the nominal size 350.

The application range of the fan is very diverse, examples would be the use in the cooling of generators, containers and small rooms. The version as axial built-in fan is intended for use in hall walls, office walls or walls in sandwich construction.

Voltage and regulation of the KE354 axial fan

In order to control the temperature continuously within limits, the TR46 temperature controller can be used in conjunction with the KE354 AC fan.

To improve the air quality, conceivable here would be office rooms in which high CO2 values occur, this can be achieved with the help of the air quality controller.

The axial fan can also be used to improve the air in organic animal husbandry, which is becoming increasingly important.

In case of increased operating temperatures, it is recommended to use thermal contacts in the form of bimetal switches in the winding to protect the motor.

Standard voltage of the motor in two-phase operation is 230Volt, 50Hz. However, special voltages of 110Volt, 60Hz for North America are also available. Other voltages in the 50Hz frequency range are available.

Stainless steel versions of the KE354 axial fan

Stainless steel fans in V2A (material number 1.4301 or AISI 304 or X5CrNi189) are usually used in the food industry.

Under the designation KE354A_V2A this is available in the surface-mounted version and under KE354E_V2A as a built-in fan. High quality cast aluminum is used for the motors, therefore they can be left raw for the food industry, but can also be painted with food color. It is also possible to use aluminum castings made of aluminum material approved for the food industry, if regular acceptance tests are carried out.

In the case of salty ambient air in the offshore area, for example the coastal area or drilling platforms, the use of fans in stainless steel V4A (material number 1.4571 or AISI 316 or X10CrNiMoTil810) is possible.

For this purpose, if necessary, the use of salt water resistant paint can be used as a varnish.

Material of KE354 axial fan

As a standard, the impellers are made of glass fiber reinforced plastic, for high temperatures aluminum impellers are also available.

The construction type plate fan in rectangular design is available. Here, however, there is a need for a small minimum order quantity for cost reasons.

The standard protection class is IP44, but IP54 and IP56 are also available on request and if required.

Please indicate the installation position when ordering so that the air direction and condensation water holes can be prefabricated accordingly. However, this can also be changed later.

The air direction of the fan is reversible, i.e. reversible. Due to the profiling of the impeller blades for optimum efficiency, in the reversed direction the air output is reduced by about 15%.
The motors have been specially developed by Kaiser Ventilatorenbau for the axial fans. The thermal protection class is F according to DIN EN 60085 or H on request.
The operating temperature and the storage temperature of the fans have been verified in practical type tests in climatic chambers. The stainless steel fans have been proven to be suitable for offshore use by means of salt water tests and an IPx6 humidity test.
The fan carries the CE- mark and complies with the Ecodesign Directive ERP 2015 (ErP Directive 2009/125/EC EU Regulation No. 327/2011), i.e. the overall motor - impeller system is energy efficient.
Since the fans are fully controllable, speed and power adjustment is possible over the entire power range. In the simplest case by robust multi-stage speed controllers in transformer design.
The KE354 fan is infinitely speed controllable by means of electronic speed controllers, TR46 temperature controllers or air quality controllers.
The three-phase motors can also be controlled by frequency converters. In accordance with DIN-IEC/TS 60034-17, it should be noted that, depending on the frequency converter, an all-pole sinusoidal filter must be connected between the motor and the fan.
Attachment parts in the form of discharge protection grilles and weather protection dampers are available to match the KE354 fan.
Ready-to-use CAD data in STEP format are available for download. This means that the fan can be integrated early in the design phase of the plant. This saves time and costs by avoiding design changes.
